Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday held a banquet at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to welcome U.S. President Donald Trump on his state visit to China.

The two heads of state delivered speeches at the welcoming banquet.

This year is the starting year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), and building on the profound foundation of the over 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, the over 1.4 billion Chinese people are advancing Chinese modernization on all fronts through high-quality development, said Xi in his speech, noting that this year also marks the 250th anniversary of independence of the United States, and more than 300 million American people are reviving the spirit of patriotism, innovation and pioneering, promoting development of the United States on a new journey.

Both the Chinese and American peoples are great peoples, and achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and making America great again can progress simultaneously, bring mutual success, and benefit the world, said Xi.

Xi said he and Trump agreed that the China-U.S. relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the current world, and the two sides must make it work and never mess it up.

Both China and the United States stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation, and the two countries should be partners rather than rivals, Xi added.

Xi also said that the two sides agreed to build a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability to promote the steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations, and bring more peace, prosperity and progress to the world.

Looking back at the course of China-U.S. relations, whether or not the two countries could have mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation is the key to whether the relationship can advance steadily, Xi said.

Noting that China-U.S. relations concern the well-being of the over 1.7 billion people of both countries and affect the interests of the over 8 billion people of the world, Xi said both sides should rise up to this historical responsibility and steer the giant ship of China-U.S. relations forward steadily and in the right direction.

Trump thanked President Xi for graciously hosting the U.S. side on the state visit, noting the two sides had positive and constructive conversations.

The U.S. and Chinese people enjoy mutual appreciation, mutual respect and a long history of friendship, and the U.S.-China relationship is the most consequential bilateral relationship in the world, said Trump, calling on the two countries to strengthen cooperation and create a better future for the world.

Le président chinois Xi Jinping a organisé jeudi un banquet au Grand Palais du peuple à Beijing en l’honneur du président américain Donald Trump à l'occasion de sa visite d'État en Chine.

Les deux chefs d'État ont prononcé des discours lors du banquet de bienvenue.

Notant que cette année marque le début de la période du 15e plan quinquennal de la Chine et également le 250e anniversaire de l'indépendance des États-Unis, M. Xi a indiqué que les peuples chinois et américain sont tous deux des grands peuples, et que la réalisation du grand renouveau de la nation chinoise et celle de "Rendre l'Amérique à nouveau grande" peuvent tout à fait aller de pair, apporter un succès mutuel et bénéficier au monde.

M. Xi a déclaré que lui et M. Председатель КНР Си Цзиньпин сегодня, 14 мая, вечером устроил в Доме народных собраний в Пекине приветственный банкет в честь президента США Дональда Трампа, который находится в Китае с государственным визитом.

El presidente chino, Xi Jinping, ofreció el jueves por la noche un banquete en el Gran Palacio del Pueblo en Beijing para dar la bienvenida al presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump, quien se encuentra en visita de Estado a China.

Los dos jefes de Estado pronunciaron sendos discursos durante el banquete de bienvenida.

En su discurso, Xi señaló que este año marca el inicio del XV Plan Quinquenal de China y que, sobre la sólida base de más de 5.000 años de civilización china, los más de 1.400 millones de chinos están impulsando la modernización del país en todos los frentes a través del desarrollo de alta calidad. 　習近平国家主席は14日夜、国賓訪問中のトランプ米国大統領を歓迎し晩餐会を人民大会堂で開催した。両元首がそれぞれスピーチを行った。

　習主席は次のように強調した。

　今年は中国の「第15次5カ年規画」のスタート年だ。14億余りの中国人民は、5000年余りにおよぶ中華文明の深厚な基盤に立脚し、質の高い発展を軸にして中国式現代化を全面的に推し進めている。同時に、米国は建国250周年を迎え、3億余りの米国民は愛国、革新、開拓の気風を奮い立たせ、米国の新たな発展への道を推進している。

　中米両国の人々はいずれも偉大であり、「中華民族の偉大な復興」の実現と「米国を再び偉大にする」ことは両立可能で、相互に補完し合い世界に恩恵をもたらすことができる。

Der chinesische Staatspräsident Xi Jinping hat am Donnerstagabend in der Großen Halle des Volkes in Beijing ein Bankett zu Ehren des US-Präsidenten Donald Trump anlässlich dessen Staatsbesuchs in China gegeben.

Dabei hielten die beiden Staatschefs nacheinander Ansprachen.

Xi betonte in seiner Rede, dass dieses Jahr den Auftakt des 15. Fünfjahresplans Chinas markiere. Die mehr als 1,4 Milliarden Chinesen bauten auf der über 5000-jährigen tiefen Grundlage der chinesischen Zivilisation auf und trieben mit qualitativ hochwertiger Entwicklung die chinesische Modernisierung umfassend voran. Gleichzeitig feierten die USA in diesem Jahr den 250. Jahrestag ihrer Unabhängigkeit. Die mehr als 300 Millionen Amerikaner belebten den Geist von Patriotismus, Innovation und den Pioniergeist neu und steuerten die Entwicklung ihres Landes auf einen neuen Weg. Das chinesische und das amerikanische Volk seien beide großartige Völker. Die Verwirklichung des großen Wiederauflebens der chinesischen Nation und das „Make America Great Again“ könnten parallel voranschreiten, einander ergänzen und befördern und der Welt zugutekommen, so Xi.
