Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin will exchange views on bilateral ties, cooperation and international and regional issues of common concern during President Putin's visit to China, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday.

Putin will pay a state visit to China from May 19 to 20 at the invitation of Xi.

"This will be President Putin's 25th visit to China. During the visit, the two heads of state will exchange views on bilateral relations, cooperation in various fields, and international and regional issues of mutual interest," said Guo.

"In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Putin, the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era has achieved sound, steady and deep development, with cooperation in various fields continuously expanded, bringing tangible benefits to both countries and peoples, while making important contributions to maintaining global strategic stability and international fairness and justice," he said.
