Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on social media on Sunday that he and U.S. President Donald Trump have agreed that any final agreement with Iran must remove its nuclear threat.
Netanyahu said that during a phone call with Trump on Saturday night, the two "agreed" that Iran's nuclear threat must be removed.
"This means dismantling Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities and removing enriched nuclear material from its territory," Netanyahu wrote in a post on the social media platform X.
"My policy, like President Trump's policy, remains unchanged: Iran will not have nuclear weapons," he added.
Netanyahu said he had spoken with Trump about a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to open the Strait of Hormuz and upcoming negotiations on a final agreement over Iran's nuclear program.
Trump had "reiterated Israel's right to defend itself against threats on all fronts, including in Lebanon," he noted.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday that Iran was negotiating an end to the war and was not currently discussing nuclear issues.
