"The Israeli enemy is trying to pressure the Lebanese side with fire and is not interested in reaching a solution or a ceasefire. Rather, it seeks to pressure the popular base of the resistance to strengthen its position at the negotiating table. If they wanted to target military installations, it would not have warned the Lebanese side."

Local residents in the Lebanese capital of Beirut are fleeing the city's southern suburbs, after Israel warned of military strikes on the region on Monday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz on Monday said in a joint statement that they had ordered the military to strike Beirut's southern suburbs.
According to the statement, the order was given following "repeated Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire" in Lebanon, including rocket and drone attacks targeting northern Israeli cities.
"We were in the south, and when they threatened it, we fled. I don't know where we'll go. The situation isn't good, and it's not normal to be under constant threat with and targeting. Israel is bombing civilian and military targets, everything," said one Beirut resident.
"When we heard they had threatened the area, we decided to go to my daughter's house in Ras al-Nabeh. Israel is striking all buildings; it doesn't spare civilians or anyone else, and there are no weapons here," another resident said.
Earlier Monday, an Israeli soldier was killed in southern Lebanon by an explosive drone launched by Hezbollah. Three other Israeli soldiers were wounded, one of them seriously, in the village of Yohmor.
The Israel Defense Forces said that throughout Monday morning, Hezbollah continued to launch rockets and drones into northern Israel, some of which were intercepted, while others fell in open areas without causing casualties.
Amid the ongoing escalation in fighting on the Lebanese front, U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday night that Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to dial back hostilities following his separate calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hezbollah representatives.
"The Israeli enemy is trying to pressure the Lebanese side with fire and is not interested in reaching a solution or a ceasefire. Rather, it seeks to pressure the popular base of the resistance to strengthen its position at the negotiating table. If they wanted to target military installations, it would not have warned the Lebanese side," said Mohammad Issa, a professor of law and international relations in Lebanon.
Lebanon's Public Health Emergency Operations Center said on Sunday that the cumulative toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 has reached 3,412 killed and 10,269 wounded.
