Iranian media said on Tuesday that the application system for vessel passage through the Strait of Hormuz is now fully open, enabling shipowners and captains worldwide to apply at any time of day.
The reports said that vessels can submit their requests through an electronic system, which will issue passage permits upon approval.
On the same day, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said that 24 ships had sailed through the Strait of Hormuz within the past 24 hours in coordination with its forces.
The vessels sailed through the waterway under the protection of IRGC naval forces after obtaining permission, according to the Public Relations department of the IRGC Navy.
Iran tightened its grip on the Strait of Hormuz beginning Feb. 28, when it barred safe passage of vessels belonging to or affiliated with Israel and the United States following their joint strikes on Iranian territory.
