The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Saturday strongly condemned the U.S. strikes on radar and coastal surveillance facilities in the Sirik region and on Qeshm Island in southern Iran earlier that day.
In a statement, the ministry asserted that these facilities had been established to protect Iran's borders and ensure the safety of navigation in international waterways. It described the U.S. attack as a blatant violation of the ceasefire reached on April 8 and an act of military aggression against Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In response to this aggression, the statement noted that the Iranian armed forces had carried out a proportionate and effective response.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Iran has the legitimate right to self-defense and will spare no effort to safeguard its national sovereignty, security, and interests.
Furthermore, the Ministry called on relevant international organizations to take immediate action to address the "continued violation" of the ceasefire, as well as other "unlawful actions" by the U.S.
