"This street is named after the Bin al-Kamal Foundation. It's a well-known street in Nabatieh. It was opened 55 years ago, in 1970. This used to be my late father's butcher shop. It was 140 years old. This shop is on the corner. Tears welled up in my eyes."

"We used to have institutions here, but that's okay. The important thing is that we're in good health. We built these institutions, we've lived through them, and we'll rebuild them, us and our children."

Families who fled Israeli evacuation orders are now returning to southern Lebanon's Nabatieh region, only to find their homes reduced to rubble and twisted metal.
Returnees described the sight of their ruined homes as catastrophic, stressing that the destruction will take a lifetime to repair and the scars of displacement will run even deeper.

Israel on May 26 issued an evacuation warning for residents of the southern Lebanon city of Nabatieh, urging them to leave "immediately" ahead of planned strikes, as fears of further escalation grew. Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on the social media platform X that all residents of Nabatieh must move north of the Zahrani River. Following the evacuation order, Israeli forces conducted several strikes against targets in Nabatieh.
On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a press conference that the Israeli military will remain in the "security zones" it controlled in Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip as long as necessary.
Meanwhile, Iran and the United States finalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sunday, aiming to end conflict on all fronts, including Lebanon. However, Israel has showed no signs of halting its offensive against Hezbollah.
