Iran said on Monday that ending the war in Lebanon is an integral and inseparable part of a broader memorandum of understanding reached with the United States to end the conflict.

The United States and Iran on Monday announced the finalization of a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending months of hostilities following negotiations between the two sides.

Speaking at a weekly press briefing in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei described the finalization of the memorandum as a major turning point, saying it covered "all fronts", including Lebanon.

"Over the past 24 hours, we have witnessed significant developments. The finalization of a Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States to end the war imposed by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran on all fronts, including Lebanon, was a major turning point. This outcome is the direct result of Iran's legendary steadfastness and heroic resistance in the face of aggression and crimes committed by two evil actors fully equipped with all material capabilities," Baghaei said.

Baghaei said Lebanon's inclusion in the agreement reflected Iran's position that any effort to end the conflict must also address the situation there.

"Lebanon and the termination of the war in Lebanon constitute an integral and inseparable part of the overall agreement to end the war. We have demonstrated in the past our firm determination on this matter. The cessation of the war and the ceasefire in Lebanon were part of the ceasefire agreement of April 8. In this regard, we have proven through our actions that we are serious. قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي يوم الإثنين/ 15 يونيو الجاري إن لبنان وإنهاء الحرب فيه "جزء لا يتجزأ" من مذكرة تفاهم السلام التي تم التوصل إليها مؤخرا بين إيران والولايات المتحدة.

وأعلنت الولايات المتحدة وإيران يوم الاثنين عن إبرام مذكرة تفاهم تهدف إلى إنهاء أشهر من الأعمال العدائية في أعقاب مفاوضات بين الجانبين.

وفي حديثه خلال مؤتمر صحفي أسبوعي في طهران، وصف المتحدث إسماعيل بقائي إبرام المذكرة بأنه نقطة تحول رئيسية، قائلاً إنها تغطي "جميع الجبهات"، بما في ذلك لبنان.
