The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), together with global business representatives, launched the Beijing Initiative for the Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), calling for enhanced resilience, digital transformation, and deeper international cooperation across industrial and supply chains.

Released at the expo's opening ceremony held on Monday, the initiative urges joint efforts from the global business community to enhance the resilience of industrial and supply chains, accelerate digital and intelligent transformation, deepen cooperation, strengthen exchanges and coordination, actively participate in the international division of labor, and integrate more deeply into the global industrial and supply chain systems.

"This year marks the beginning of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030). The fourth CISCE aims to promote high-quality development, expand high-level opening up, and facilitate international cooperation on industrial and supply chains to help Chinese and overseas enterprise share opportunities and achieve common development," said CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin when addressing the opening ceremony.

Running through Friday, the expo features supply chain exhibitions in digital technology, advanced manufacturing, green agriculture, healthy life, smart vehicle, and clean energy, as well as a supply chain service zone, with more than 70 business and industrial exchange events scheduled to take place.

The CISCE Launchpad officially started operation on Monday afternoon, with six enterprises showcasing their new technologies, products and solutions. During the five-day event, a total of nearly 40 exhibitors are expected to appear at the CISCE Launchpad to unveil their latest achievements in supply chain collaborative innovation and development opportunities.

Compared with the previous three editions, the fourth CISCE features a marked increase in internationalization. The number of exhibitors has grown from 515 in the inaugural expo to 676 this year, representing 85 countries, regions and international organizations.

In addition to 115 companies returning for consecutive participation, enterprises from 13 countries, including Finland and Austria, are exhibiting for the first time this year.

As the Guest Country of Honor of this year's expo, Australia has brought a considerable number of companies to participate.

"China is the center of the global supply chain. If you're interested in supply chains, you must be in China. We've brought over 30 companies with us to China, who specialize in renewable energy, in the energy transition," said John Grimes, chief executive of the Renewable Energy Council Asia-Pacific, which was initiated by Australia’s Smart Energy Council and launched in 2024 at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

As the world's first national-level exhibition focusing on supply chains, the China International Supply Chain Expo is an internationally shared public good. First held in 2023, the expo has contributed to building more secure, stable, open and inclusive global industrial and supply chains.
