China and the European Union (EU) will hold a second meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism in China this autumn, Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesman He Yadong said at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.

China's Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security and Interinstitutional Relations and Transparency Maros Sefcovic co-chaired the first meeting of the mechanism in Brussels on Monday.

"The China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism is a newly established, regular exchange platform in the economic and trade field between the two sides. Both sides have agreed to hold one or two ministerial meetings each year. La deuxième réunion du mécanisme de consultation Chine-UE sur le commerce et les investissements se tiendra cet automne en Chine, a annoncé jeudi le porte-parole du ministère chinois du Commerce, He Yadong, lors d’un point de presse à Beijing.

La première réunion, coprésidée lundi à Bruxelles par le ministre chinois Wang Wentao et le commissaire européen Maros Sefcovic, a permis de jeter les bases d’un dialogue régulier.

"Ce mécanisme constitue une nouvelle plateforme d’échange dans le domaine économique et commercial. Nous avons convenu de nous réunir une à deux fois par an au niveau ministériel. Une invitation a d’ores et déjà été adressée à M. Sefcovic pour l’automne", a précisé le porte-parole.

M. He a indiqué que la première réunion avait identifié trois priorités : développer la coopération dans les secteurs émergents (intelligence artificielle, transition écologique), exploiter le potentiel du commerce des services, et aborder les points de blocage relatifs à l’accès aux marchés.

Les deux parties se sont accordées sur un nouveau cadrage de leurs relations commerciales – celui de partenaires majeurs, stables et équilibrés –, ce qui devrait renforcer la confiance des entreprises et donner une impulsion positive à l’économie en Chine, en Europe et dans le monde.

Китай и Европейский союз (ЕС) проведут вторую встречу в рамках механизма консультаций по вопросам торговли и инвестиций этой осенью, заявил 2 июля официальный представитель Министерства коммерции КНР Хэ Ядун на пресс-конференции в Пекине.
