Pak Thae Song, premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited the Museum of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the command center of Beijing's subway on Sunday, during his visit to China from June 10 to 12.
Pak is also a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK.
At the museum, which houses exhibits from the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), Pak and his party and government delegation frequently stopped to closely examine the weapons and the uniforms of Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) soldiers.
During the war, China sent 2.9 million CPV soldiers to assist the DPRK. More than 360,000 of these soldiers were killed or injured.
Pak and the delegation also learned about the CPC's century-long struggle and highly praised its unremitting efforts to meet the people's aspirations for a better life.
In his message, Pak expressed his hope that China would continue to achieve success in its socialist modernization drive under the leadership of the CPC.
Pak and his delegation also visited the command center of Beijing's subway, gaining a deeper understanding of China's underground rail transit construction and its modern operation model.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the signing of the China-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. When meeting with Pak in Beijing on Friday, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China and the DPRK should ensure that the development of bilateral relations always helps consolidate their respective socialist causes and promote their modernization drives.
