China and the United States have maintained communication on arrangements for interactions between the two heads of state later this year, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday.
Lin made the remarks in response to a media query about a planned visit by President Xi Jinping to the United States in September.
"Head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable strategic guidance role for China-U.S. relations. The two sides have remained in communication on arrangements for interactions between the two heads of state later this year," Lin said.
