Around-the-clock rescue efforts are underway in Pereira in western Colombia, as the critical 72-hour rescue window to find trapped survivors nears its close following Monday's devastating earthquake.

The 7.5-magnitude quake jolted cities across Colombia's western region at 07:34 local time on Monday, completely destroying the eight-story Dibeni Hotel in Pereira.

Rescue workers said that 13 people were in the landmark hotel when the earthquake struck.

Eight bodies have been recovered from the rubble so far.

The search is being hampered by the sheer complexity of the debris, with concrete and steel reinforcement knotted in an impenetrable maze.

"We are forming human chains to clear the rubble as quickly as possible. The more people we have, the faster we can move the debris -- and the sooner we can reach those trapped beneath. We believe there are still people alive under the ruins. We won't lose hope until the very end. That's why we're willing to work through the night, around the clock. No matter how long it takes, if we can fulfill our mission, it will all be worth it," said Paula Campos, a rescue volunteer.

Many local residents have come to bring water and food to the rescue teams.

While some parts of Pereira still lack running water and electricity, the community continues to stand together in solidarity.

The latest official data on Thursday showed that the death toll from the earthquake has risen to 273, with 3,824 people injured and 377 still missing.

Les opérations de sauvetage se déroulent jour et nuit à Pereira, dans l'ouest de la Colombie, alors que le délai critique de 72 heures pour retrouver des survivants piégés touche à sa fin, après le tremblement de terre de de magnitude 7,5.

Dans les villes de l'ouest, le séisme a détruit l'hôtel Dibeni, un immeuble de huit étages situé à Pereira.

Les secouristes ont indiqué que 13 personnes se trouvaient dans cet hôtel emblématique lors du tremblement de terre. Jusqu'à présent, huit corps ont été extraits des décombres.

Les recherches sont entravées par l'extrême complexité des débris, le béton et l'acier qui forment un enchevêtrement de ferraille.

De nombreux habitants sont venus apporter de l'eau et de la nourriture aux équipes de sauvetage.

La communauté fait preuve de solidarité et d'unité bien que certaines zones de Pereira soient toujours privées d'eau et d'électricité.

Selon les données officielles publiées jeudi, le bilan du séisme s'est alourdi à 273 morts, 3 824 blessés et 377 disparus.

В городе Перейра на западе Колумбии круглосуточно ведутся спасательные работы, поскольку критически важный 72-часовой период поиска под завалами после разрушительного землетрясения в понедельник подходит к концу.

Землетрясение магнитудой 7,5 сотрясло города по всему западному региону Колумбии в 07:34 по местному времени 10 августа, полностью разрушив восьмиэтажный отель "Дибени" в Перейре.

Voluntarios y rescatistas trabajan de forma ininterrumpida para encontrar supervivientes entre las ruinas del Hotel Dibeni, ubicado en Pereira, Colombia, que colapsó tras el terremoto de magnitud 7,4 el lunes.

Sin importar las largas jornadas ni las condiciones climáticas, los voluntarios y el personal de emergencia mantienen la esperanza de encontrar alguien con vida.

En el interior del emblemático hotel de ocho pisos habían 13 personas cuando ocurrió el terremoto, contaron los equipos de rescate. Hasta el momento, se han recuperado ocho cadáveres.

La búsqueda de las otras víctimas se ha visto obstaculizado por la dificultad de acceder a un ´laberinto impenetrable´ de hormigón y acero de refuerzo.

"Estamos apoyando con cadenas humanas para poder retirar lo más rápido los escombros que se están sacando, entre más voluntarios haya más rápido, se va a poder llegar y sacar escombros. Creemos que vamos a encontrar vida aquí. La esperanza es lo último que perdemos, así que estamos dispuestos a amanecer y a tardar las horas que sean necesarias para cumplir con esta labor", señaló Paula Campos, una voluntaria de rescate.

Los vecinos también se han sumado a las tareas de remoción de escombros, y han llevado agua embotellada y alimentos para los equipos de rescate. El suministro de agua potable y electricidad en algunas zonas de Pereira se ha visto afectado, por lo que la solidaridad de la comunidad es aún más destacable.

En la más reciente actualización de la situación, el presidente de Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, informó el jueves que el número de muertos por el terremoto ascendió a 281, la de heridos a 3.971 y la de desaparecidos a 379.

　コロンビア西部の都市ペレイラでは、10日に発生した壊滅的な地震を受け、生存者救出の「タイムリミット」とされる72時間が迫る中、昼夜を問わず救助活動が続いている。

　現地時間の10日午前7時34分、マグニチュード7.5の地震がコロンビア西部各地を襲い、ペレイラにある8階建ての「ディベニ・ホテル（Dibeni Hotel）」が完全に倒壊した。

　救助隊によると、地震発生時、この街のランドマーク的存在である同ホテルには13人が滞在していた。

　これまでに瓦礫の中から8人の遺体が収容されている。

　コンクリートや鉄筋が複雑に絡み合い、まるで侵入不可能な迷路のようになっているため、瓦礫の撤去作業は難航している。

　13日に発表された公式データによると、この地震による死者は273人に上り、負傷者は3824人、依然として377人が行方不明となっている。

Nach dem verheerenden Erdbeben vom Montag dauern die Rettungsaktionen in Pereira im Westen Kolumbiens unter Hochdruck an, während sich das kritische 72-Stunden-Zeitfenster zur Rettung eingeschlossener Überlebender seinem Ende nähert.

Ein Erdbeben der Stärke 7,5 hatte am Montag um 07:34 Uhr Ortszeit zahlreiche Städte im Westen Kolumbiens erschüttert. Das achtstöckige Hotel Dibeni in Pereira wurde dabei vollständig zerstört.

Laut Rettungskräften befanden sich während des Bebens 13 Personen in dem bekannten Hotel.

Bislang wurden acht Leichen aus den Trümmern geborgen.

Die Sucharbeiten werden durch die enorme Komplexität des Schuttbergs erschwert – Beton und Stahlbewehrungen haben ein nahezu undurchdringbares Gewirr gebildet.

Viele Einwohner unterstützen die Rettungskräfte auch, indem sie ihnen Wasser und Essen zur Verfügung stellen.

Obwohl in einigen Teilen Pereiras weiterhin Wasser und Strom fehlen, zeigt die Gemeinschaft große Solidarität.

Nach den neuesten offiziellen Daten vom Donnerstag ist die Zahl der Todesopfer durch das Erdbeben auf 273 gestiegen, während 3824 Menschen verletzt wurden und 377 weitere noch als vermisst gelten.
