Iran said on Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz remained closed, while two vessels belonging to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were reportedly attacked while transiting the waterway.

Ali Azmaei, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC)'s Navy, said that the strait was closed, and that the Iranian force had complete and decisive control over the movements in the waterway.

No movement in the strait escapes the eyes of the IRGC Navy, the commander said.

Meanwhile, ADNOC issued a statement on Friday, confirming that two of its vessels came under attack in the strait on Thursday evening, according to local authorities and media reports.

In a statement posted on social media, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Iranian attacks, stressing the necessity for Iran to cease attacks.

The company confirmed that no injuries have been reported, and the situation has been brought under control, according to the official Emirates News Agency.

The state-owned ADNOC is one of the largest oil and gas producers in the world, serving as the primary driver of the UAE's economy.

L'Iran a confirmé jeudi la fermeture du détroit d'Ormuz, alors que deux navires de la compagnie pétrolière nationale d'Abou Dhabi (ADNOC) auraient été attaqués alors qu'ils traversaient cette voie stratégique.

Le commandant de la marine du Corps des gardiens de la révolution islamique (CGRI), Ali Azmaei, a assuré que le détroit restait fermé et que les forces iraniennes exerçaient un contrôle total sur les mouvements dans cette zone. Aucun mouvement dans le détroit n'échappe aux yeux du CGRI, a-t-il affirmé.

De son côté, ADNOC a confimé vendredi l'attaque de deux de ses navires dans le détroit jeudi soir. Le ministère émirati des Affaires étrangères a condamné ces frappes sur les réseaux sociaux, appelant l'Iran à y mettre fin.

Selon l'agence de presse officielle WAM, la compagnie a indiqué qu'aucun blessé n'était à déplorer et que la situation était sous contrôle.

ADNOC figure parmi les plus grands producteurs de pétrole et de gaz au monde et constitue le principal moteur de l'économie des Émirats arabes unis.

أعلنت إيران يوم الخميس/ 14 أغسطس الجاري أن مضيق هرمز لا يزال مغلقاً، في حين أفادت التقارير بتعرض سفينتين تابعتين لشركة بترول أبوظبي الوطنية (أدنوك) التابعة لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة لهجوم أثناء عبورهما الممر المائي.

وقال علي عظمائي، قائد القوات البحرية للحرس الثوري الإيراني إن مضيق هرمز مغلق، وإن قواته تفرض سيطرة كاملة وحاسمة على جميع التحركات في الممر المائي.

وأكد عدم غياب أي حركة لأي سفينة في هذا المضيق دون أن ترصدها أعين القوات البحرية للحرس الثوري.

في غضون ذلك، أصدرت شركة أدنوك بيانًا يوم الجمعة، أكدت فيه تعرض سفينتين تابعتين لها لهجوم في المضيق مساء الخميس، وفقًا لتقارير السلطات المحلية ووسائل الإعلام.

وفي بيان نُشر على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، أدانت وزارة الخارجية الإماراتية الهجمات الإيرانية، مؤكدةً على ضرورة وقف إيران لهجماتها.

وأكدت الشركة عدم وقوع إصابات، وأن الوضع بات تحت السيطرة، وفقًا لوكالة أنباء الإمارات الرسمية.

وتُعدّ أدنوك، المملوكة للدولة، واحدا من أكبر منتجي النفط والغاز في العالم، وتُمثّل المحرك الرئيسي لاقتصاد دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
