The China Media Group (CMG) launched a film culture carnival in north China's Tianjin Municipality on Friday.

Themed "2026 Year of Film Economy Promotion," the carnival features a series of innovative "film plus" activities to create an immersive film culture feast for all consumers, aiming to further unleash consumption potential, upgrade consumption, and boost socioeconomic development.

During the event, the Tianjin municipal government will offer ticket stub-based discounts and thoughtful services to moviegoers and launch a themed cultural tourist route, forging diverse consumption scenarios integrating culture, commerce and tourism to fuel "film plus" consumption.

On the same day, the carnival also opened its fairs at the Jinwan Plaza and the Binhai Cultural Center. The two markets will last for seven days, comprising diverse sections such as film industry experience, open-air free cinema, themed exhibitions, and creative intangible cultural heritage products to explore a path for the deep integration of film, intangible cultural heritage, and urban life.

The film culture carnival is jointly organized by the CMG and the Tianjin municipal government under the guidance of the China Film Administration.
