The death toll from a deadly mudslide triggered by an ice-rock avalanche in Nepal on Aug. 26 has surpassed 1,350, Nepal Police said on Sunday.
According to the latest figures released by police, 1,353 bodies had been recovered as of 20:00 local time on Sunday.
So far, 9,159 injured people have been rescued following the disaster. Of those rescued, 3,190 have been safely accommodated at a holding center, Nepal Police spokesperson Abi Narayan Kafle said.
Authorities have also stepped up efforts to identify the bodies through DNA testing, police said.
