The escalating tensions between Yemen's Houthis group and Saudi Arabia will only serve the interests of Israel, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Monday at a press conference in Tehran.

Iran does not want to see further fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, and is ready to do everything possible to facilitate dialogue among all the parties, Baghaei said

"Iran's position is clear: the Yemen issue should have been resolved through an agreement between Yemen (the Houthis) and Saudi Arabia. As everyone knows, the two sides had reached an agreement on a (peace) roadmap, and Iran has also emphasized its support for both sides in implementing all the agreements reached. However, these agreements have not been implemented. Iran has repeatedly said that it is willing to make every effort to facilitate dialogue between the two sides. Iran also believes that the continued escalation of tensions will only serve Israel's interests in the region," he said.

On the situation between Iran and the United States, Baghaei said a recent series of U.S. sanctions against Iran have deprived the Iranian people of a range of rights, including access to civil aviation facilities and medical and educational services, and that the Iranian people are bearing the consequences of U.S. hostile actions.

Baghaei noted that Iran had previously put forward a seven-day plan aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and demanded that the United States meet Iran's requirements, including lifting the maritime blockade, halting wars on all regional fronts and returning Iran's frozen assets.

He said that Iran and the United States are still exchanging information through mediators, and that Tehran is reviewing the views fed back by the U.S. side, and will communicate its position to the mediators as soon as possible after the review.

قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية، إسماعيل بقائي، في مؤتمر صحفي بطهران، يوم الاثنين/12 أكتوبر الجاري، إن تصاعد التوترات بين اليمن والسعودية لن يخدم سوى مصالح إسرائيل.

وقال بقائي إن إيران لا ترغب في رؤية المزيد من القتال بين السعودية والحوثيين، وإنها مستعدة لبذل كل ما في وسعها لتسهيل الحوار بين الأطراف.

وفيما يتعلق بالوضع بين إيران والولايات المتحدة، صرح بقائي بأن سلسلة العقوبات الأمريكية الأخيرة المفروضة على إيران قد حرمت الشعب الإيراني من مجموعة من الحقوق، بما في ذلك الاستفادة من مرافق الطيران المدني والخدمات الطبية والتعليمية، وأن الشعب الإيراني يتحمل تداعيات الممارسات الأمريكية العدائية.

كما أشار بقائي إلى أن إيران كانت قد طرحت سابقاً خطةً مدتها سبعة أيام تهدف إلى إعادة فتح مضيق هرمز، وطالبت الولايات المتحدة بتلبية مطالبها، بما في ذلك رفع الحصار البحري، ووقف الحروب على جميع الجبهات الإقليمية، وإعادة الأصول الإيرانية المجمّدة.

La escalada de tensiones entre Yemen y Arabia Saudí solo servirá a los intereses de Israel, declaró el lunes Esmaeil Baghaei, portavoz del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Irán, en una conferencia de prensa en Teherán.

Baghaei afirmó que Irán no desea ver más enfrentamientos entre Arabia Saudí y los hutíes, y que está dispuesto a hacer todo lo posible para facilitar el diálogo entre las partes.

"La postura de Irán es muy clara. La cuestión de Yemen debe resolverse mediante el acuerdo alcanzado entre los yemeníes (los hutíes) y Arabia Saudí. Respecto a la situación entre Irán y Estados Unidos, Baghaei señaló que una reciente serie de sanciones estadounidenses contra Irán ha privado al pueblo iraní de diversos derechos, incluido el acceso a instalaciones de aviación civil y a servicios médicos y educativos, y que la población iraní está sufriendo las consecuencias de las acciones hostiles de Estados Unidos.

Tras recordar que Irán había propuesto anteriormente un plan de siete días destinado a reabrir el estrecho de Ormuz, Baghaei exigió que Estados Unidos cumpliera con las demandas iraníes, tales como levantar el bloqueo marítimo, detener las hostilidades en todos los frentes regionales y devolver los activos iraníes congelados.

Asimismo, indicó que actualmente Teherán y Washington continúan intercambiando información a través de mediadores, y que Irán está revisando la respuesta estadounidense y que comunicará su postura a los intermediarios tan pronto como concluya dicha revisión.
